‘Conversation with the Shore’ – The Market Gallery

Exploring the intersection of function, memory, and material history.

Weaving together four years of reconnection with home

Currently exhibited at The Market Gallery. In this series of three largescale macramé sculptures, Laura Robertson weaves together four years of reconnection with her hometown, South Shields. Each tapestry serves as a compositional narrative a tactile archive of place, identity, and belonging.

Individually handwoven knots, loops and consciously sourced materials; archival content, upcycled elements, private collections and independent flea markets. The installation considers how traces and associations of place can be encountered, collected and reinterpreted through existing materials.
